The President of the Venice Biennale Pietrangelo Buttafuoco and the curator of the 19th International Architecture Exhibition Carlo Ratti presented on May 7, 2024 the details of the next Venice Architecture Biennale 2025, which will take place from May 10 to November 23, 2025. The exhibitions will be held in the traditional exhibition spaces Gardens/Giardini and Arsenale and also in different locations of the city in the lagoon.
The theme that will mark the next Architecture Biennale, Intelligens. Natural. Artificial. Collective. is multi-sense. It explores the complexities of the built environment and the disciplines that contribute to its design. Carlo Ratti highlighted the importance of intelligence in all its forms, which goes beyond the simple concept of artificial intelligence. It proposes a broadening of the meanings associated with intelligence and a more integrated approach that includes a wide range of disciplines such as art, engineering, biology, social and political sciences, among others.
The ambitious goal of the biennale is the effective search for concrete solutions to the environmental challenges of the present, recognizing the key role of architecture in the current climate crisis.
