PRESENTATION OF THE ARCHITECTURAL GUIDE ON SLOVENIA
Hendrik Bohle / Jan Dimog
Max Fabiani, Jože Plečnik and Edvard Ravnikar designed Ljubljana of the 20th century. The three advocated urban development after the devastating earthquake of 1895. I such way a new generation of architects settled between the Alps and the Adriatic, recognized their socialist past and embarking on a confident journey in search of national identity. The northernmost republic of the former Yugoslavia is an indispensable part of the European stage of contemporary architecture. The guide presents projects focusing on the last 100 years, supplemented with essays and interviews by young Slovenian architects and curators.
