Roland Winkler and Klaudia Ruck both studied architecture at the Technical University of Graz, Austria, and have been working together since 1994. In 1998 they opened their office WINKLER+RUCK ARCHITEKTEN in Klagenfurt, Austria. Roland Winkler has been a lecturer at the University of Innsbruck, Austria, and the Carinthian University of Applied Sciences ofSpittal a.d. Drau, Austria. They have been working on private housing as well as on public buildings and art projects. Lots of the buildings were awarded prices. Their Treasury in the Monastry of Gurk, Austria, won the Austrian Builders Award in2014. Their work was also nominated for the Piranesi Award (2015) and the Josef Plecnik Award (2015). Recently WINKLER+RUCK ARCHITEKTEN have won the international competition for the Vienna Museum, Vienna, Austria (in cooperation with Ferdinand Certov, Graz, Austria) and the international competition for the Museum Rudolfinum in Klagenfurt, Austria.
