Congratulations to Yvonne Farrell and Shelley McNamara, co-founders of Grafton Architects from Dublin! They have been named the 2020 laureates of the Pritzker Architecture Prize. In 2019, the architects were awarded by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) with the prestigious Royal Gold Medal 2020. In 2018, they curated the 16th Venice Biennale of Architecture. Grafton architects have previously exhibited at the Dessa Gallery. We are honored to have hosted Yvonne Farrell as our lecturer at the 27th PDA in 2009. The same year, the PDA guest lecturer was also Wang Shu who won Pritzker in 2012. By now 6 Pritzker laureats have given lecture at Piran Days of Architecture: Alvaro Siza (Pritzker 1992), Christian de Portzamparc (Pritzker 1994), Peter Zumthor (Pritzker 2009), Eduardo Soto de Moura (Pritzker 2011), Wang Shu (Pritzker 2012), Grafton (Pritzker 2020).
