The last general urban plan of Koper was designed by Slovenian modernist architect Edo Mihevc in the 1960s. A walk around the city will explore the layers of Mihevc's architectural oeuvre by identifying his architectural typologies of residential and public buildings and the public surfaces of Koper. In the context of contemporary changes in investor urbanism, the consequences on the architectural layers of the architectural heritage will be presented. We will visit as well the temporary project space in Tomos building by Edo Mihevc, part of the accompanying program of the Piran Days of Architecture.

What do Trieste and Berlin have in common? Both share a tower of freedom. Trieste's Freedom Lighthouse is the world's tallest lighthouse with its 68m. With this height it overcame the Berlin’s Siegessäule by 5.7m, measuring 62.3 meters. Since the beginning of the twentieth century, both Trieste and Berlin have been influenced by a variety of factors. Social change by sharing the results of science, industrial products and cultural events shaped the special character of both cities. In the immediate vicinity, Rainer Maria Rilke wrote the famous Devine Elegies. We will look at some great examples of Trieste’s brutalism, and from the platform of Monte Grisa (Vejna) the view will reach Devin.
